In May 2025, CS-MACH1 was featured by VLIZ during the OTTERS Final Conference (23–24 May 2025, Oeiras, Portugal), where Nancy Fockedey presented a poster and stand highlighting VLIZ’s citizen-science initiatives.
The poster — “Empowering citizens for marine and aquatic science: multi-level commitment to ocean literacy and monitoring of European seas and waters” — underlined CS-MACH1’s role in connecting projects and advancing marine citizen-science data integration.

CS-MACH1 was also mentioned by Jan Seys (VLIZ) in a UNRIC (United Nations Regional Information Centre) article on the “tropicalisation of the North Sea”, published in English, French, and Dutch and promoted during World Water Week (24–28 August 2025).
