This recognition highlights CS-MACH1’s central role in contributing to the Mission’s three core objectives:
Protecting and restoring marine and freshwater ecosystems and biodiversity, in line with the EU Biodiversity Strategy 2030;
Preventing and eliminating pollution of our ocean, seas and waters, following the EU Zero Pollution Action Plan;
Advancing a carbon-neutral, circular, and sustainable blue economy, in line with the European Climate Law and the Sustainable Blue Economy Strategy.
Through its work, CS-MACH1 supports the EU Ocean Knowledge System, ensures the FAIR management of marine citizen-science data, and promotes citizen engagement, knowledge exchange, and collaboration across Europe. By linking citizen-generated ocean data to trusted infrastructures such as EMODnet, SeaDataNet, and EurOBIS, the project contributes directly to the shared European effort of restoring our ocean and waters by 2030.
As a recognised Mission Charter Action, CS-MACH1 will be featured on the Mission Charter Actions website and in official Mission materials in the coming days.
