The Horizon Europe project CS-MACH1 will take part in boot Düsseldorf, the world’s largest yacht and watersports show, from January 17 to 22, 2026. With over 200,000 visitors from 120 countries and more than 1,500 exhibitors from 67 nations, boot Düsseldorf is the premier global event for boating and watersports enthusiasts, offering an unparalleled platform to explore the latest innovations across sailing, motor boating, diving, surfing, and more.
CS-MACH1 will be featured at the Watersports and Citizen Science: Participative Ocean Monitoring Stand in Hall 11, Stand 11E04, alongside key partner projects and initiatives including the LandSeaLot project, EMODnet and The Ocean Race . This collaborative stand will demonstrate cutting-edge Marine Citizen Science technologies and data applications, inviting visitors to engage directly with ocean monitoring tools and learn how they can contribute to marine science.
In addition to the interactive stand, CS-MACH1 representatives will deliver two talks during the event:
● January 19, 17:00 — Involving Seafarers in Collecting an Ocean of Data by Arianna Liconti, at the Ocean Forum, Water Pixel World stage, Foundation’s Love Your Ocean area (Hall 11, Stand H04, near the diving zone).
● January 20, 11:00 — Citizen Science for Ocean Monitoring – LandSeaLot and CS-MACH1 Projects by Melanie Symes and Arianna Liconti at the Love Your Ocean Stage. How can watersports enthusiasts participate to Ocean monitoring? A brief presentation of CS-MACH1 and LandSeaLot EU-funded projects through which marine citizen science is stepping forward in Europe.
These presentations will explore how sailors, watersports enthusiasts, and citizens can actively participate in ocean monitoring, contributing valuable data through cost-effective technology and collaborative networks. CS-MACH1’s mission is to create a robust Marine Citizen Science network that integrates technology providers, data experts, and training resources to empower citizens, facilitating FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data flows and amplifying the impact of citizen-generated marine data.
Join CS-MACH1 and partners at boot Düsseldorf 2026 to discover how Citizen Science is transforming ocean monitoring and how you can be part of this exciting journey.
